In July 11th 1995 in Srebrenica, a town in eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Bosnian Serbians soldiers led by General Ratko Mladic, called the hangman of Srebrenica, they have killed about eight thousand men and boys by Bosnian Muslim religion. The city, which had been declared a United Nations safe area, was captured on July 11th, despite the presence of a contingent of Dutch peacekeepers.
THE MOST SERIOUS MASSACRE OF SREBRENICA OCCURRED IN EUROPE FROM THE SECOND WORLD WAR, AND IT IS CONSIDERED GENOCIDE BY THE INTERNATIONAL JUSTICE. The tragedy happened during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, began at the end of March 1992.
